Dr Rollo is a senior lecturer in design with the School of Architecture and Building at Deakin University. Educated at La Trobe, Deakin, UCLA and Cambridge, he is an advocate for collaborative and multi-discipline education and has extensive teaching, research and professional experience in Australia, the US and the UK.

Contributing to facilitating greater discourse on contemporary urban design issues between local government, the design professions and higher education, Dr Rollo initiated the studio based design research forum, 'Urbanheart Surgery', in 1999. He subsequently developed the 'Urbanheart' Design Research Group in 2001, which operates as a graduate program within the School of Architecture and Building at Deakin University.

He coordinates a number of funded and non-funded projects on planning and design issues in three areas critical to Victoria's future development: Regional Urbanism, Metropolitan Urbanism and Urbanism on the periphery.

Yolanda Esteban holds a double degree with honours in Architecture and Construction Management and is a Lecturer at Deakin University's School of Architecture and Building. She is an urban designer with a wide range of experience on strategic urban planning projects, both regional and metropolitan.

Yolanda is a key part of the Urbanheart Design Research Group with her cutting-edge research on urban growth simulation and its application to sustainable development. She has also developed a body of research in urban theory and practice and has been published in Australia and internationally.
